Rysanov let the music speak for itself. His sound was very natural. At times almost small, sometimes bitingly sarcastic and then again wonderfully grand and deep. The interaction between viola and piano was so beautiful and could not help but move. It may sound exaggerated, but Kissin and Rysanov were really two kindred spirits in this music.
